TODDLER CARE AT CLUBHOUSE KIDS

When you've found the right place for your toddler, you know it. And we've designed our toddler program to convey that. That feeling that you've found the right place...the perfect place for your toddler.

To parents, our toddler program is a safe place for their always-on-the-go toddler to explore, discover, and learn all about the world around them.

To toddlers, our program is the place where they discover a universe of joyful amazement, where the next wondrous toy, entertaining game, or fascinating activity is only an arms-length or a brief moment away.

At Clubhouse Kids, our toddler child care program focuses on building good habits, learning and practicing new skills, and helping to develop excellent social skills while they learn about their environment.

LOVING, NURTURING, PROFESSIONAL EDUCATORS

Our early childhood educators are a carefully selected group of loving, nurturing professionals who embrace the joy of leading our toddler child care program. Our goal is to make our toddler child care program an extension of your home, where we create a setting that is as welcoming and familiar to your precious child as their own home.

INDIVIDUALIZED CARE FOR YOUR TODDLER

As with our infant care program, our toddler program is based on what leading research points to as the best practices for early learning, growth, and continued development.

Program highlights include:

  • Support for emerging toddler independence, language, and social skills
  • A spotlight on individual growth and making choices
  • A toddler program that encourages language & reading, fine motor skills, science, art, math, dramatic play, and outdoor exploration & discovery
  • A relaxed environment to assist with fostering individual development and self-help skills
  • Exemplary safety, security, and cleanliness practices that meet or exceed all state, local, and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) guidelines
CORE DAILY PRACTICES
  • One-on-one teacher-to-child interactions to help build relationships and social skills
  • Small group interactions with other young children to assist with building relationships and social skills
  • Consistent teacher-to-child conversation to encourage thinking, speaking, and comprehension, for improved language development
  • Use of various center materials, media, and educational toys to fire-up the senses
  • Participation in small-group activities to maximize social interactions, and encourage learning by making choices during play
  • Opportunities to learn about "cause and effect" by asking questions to arrive at a theory, experimenting, finding answers, and verifying conclusions; the backbone of the scientific method and how we all learn
  • Outdoor time (weather permitting) to discover unfamiliar sights, smells, sounds, and textures as as we explore and discover the world around us
DAILY INTERACTIONS TO ENCOURAGE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
  • Daily Reading: Age-appropriate books to support listening, vocabulary, and a love of reading
  • Art Activities: Finger painting , music, and pretend play to help spark creativity
  • Sign Language: Basic signs such as: "more", "please", "eat", "love", "yes", and "no" to help build language development
  • Wonder Baskets: Everyday objects are placed in a covered basket, and babies are encouraged to explore them, to help entice curiosity
  • Outdoor Discovery: Time is spent outside exploring nature while inspiring motor and sensory development
SEPARATE AGE-BASED INFANT & TODDLER SPACES

In order to place a focus on the growing individual needs of infants & toddlers between the ages of 6-weeks and 2-years old, the Clubhouse Kids Infant & Toddler Child Care Program has two separate Maryland State Department of Education-Office of Child Care (MSDE-OCC) licensed spaces, serving the following approximate age groups separately:

  • 6 weeks to 9 months old – require a specific type of care as they take their first glimpses of the world around them, and learn to roll over, sit up, pull up, and crawl
  • 9 months to 24 months old – require a different type of care than younger infants as they learn to stand, and walk, allowing them to expand their boundaries and explore…everywhere :-)

Having these two separate areas for these two different age groups allows our teachers to have improved interactions with each baby and toddler as they grow and explore the world around them.

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE

The Clubhouse Kids toddler child care program sets a standard for excellence for all early childhood education centers. The lessons learned, skills taught, imagination encouraged, and senses engaged throughout the Clubhouse Kids infant and toddler programs set a solid, well-rounded foundation upon which to build-on with continued growth in our "twos" curriculum, preschool curriculums, primary school, college, and throughout life along the path to a great success story.
